Introduction

Master in Population, Gender and Development (MPGD) is a two-year interdisciplinary programme which aims to develop leadership for the future by producing career-oriented professionals, academicians, and social entrepreneurs in the domain of population, gender and development. The program was launched in 2004 under a tripartite agreement between Pokhara University, The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the Government of Nepal.

Programme Objective

The objective of the MPGD programme is to produce a highly qualified development professionals having conceptual and practical knowledge in Population, Gender and Development. In addition, students would receive theoretical knowledge on development issues and practical social research skills. The thrust of the programme is on development where population and gender are integrated as cross-cutting issues.
